About Pat Miller
Pat Miller is drawn to color, form, and character in an effort to capture moments that possess a particular beauty or humor. She especially likes to photograph reflections, abstracts, landscapes, seascapes, and creatures. Her photos and digital art embrace both beauty and silliness, ranging from abstraction to hyper-realism. She works to balance complexity and simplicity.
Originally an academic trained in literature, Pat Miller became an artist in her middle years. After growing up in Canton, OH, she transplanted herself to New England in 1971, where she has lived ever since, residing now in Willimantic, CT, and Charlestown, RI.
She has exhibited her prize-winning work at Slater Memorial Museum (Norwich, CT), Akus Gallery (Eastern CT State University), Spirol Gallery (Quinebaug Valley Community College), Windham (CT) Regional Arts Council, Frank Bette Center for the Arts (Alameda, CA), the Monson (MA) Arts Council, Jonathan Trumbull Library (Lebanon, CT), West Hartford (CT) Art League, Windham (CT) Theatre Guild, and Sachuest and Kettle Pond National Wildlife Refuge Centers (RI). Her pieces are also in private collections across the US, as well as in the UK, Germany, and Italy.
